Repair Festival Aotearoa NZ

The Aotearoa New Zealand-wide Repair Festival was launched in September 2024, successfully bringing together the many Repair Cafés, businesses, organisations, and Councils that are joining the growing Repair Community. In 2025, we saw an even higher and broader participation, leading to a strong desire for a month-long festival.

Repair Festival 2026

The Repair Festival 2026 is officially scheduled to run from Saturday, September 5 to Sunday, September 27 (the first Saturday to the last Sunday of the month), as we host continuous repair activities and events all across the motu. Further details will be available from April 2026.

This week-long celebration took place from 6 to 14 of September 2025, with 48 organisations hosting repair events across the country, bringing communities together to celebrate fixing, mending, and extending the life of our belongings.

Our landfills are overflowing with items that could be repaired and reused. Through showcasing a variety of projects, initiatives, and solutions, we cultivate repair skills and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of responsible consumption.

Building the repair movement

The Repair Festival Aotearoa addresses the need for accessible repair options across the country.


We invite everyone to join the Repair Movement – communities, businesses, schools, universities, and libraries, advocacy groups, and government.
